Locations for are Idea
locations
For the location for our music video, we went to the Docks to look for possible places. We found some grim looking areas with numbers which we could call should we want to use a specific place. many of them match the style of a grunge video and with them being abandon will make it easier to film and record in. The building faded glass and the feeling of emptiness would fit perfect in are music video with it feeling perfect for a grunge video. The main problem with it is getting permission to film on the docks which can be difficult.
Inital Ideas
Grind - Unnamed
The idea for this music video is half performance, half narration (for locations see 'location record' blog post). The performance part of the video is going to be different shots of the band, both separately and as a whole band. Our surrounding is to have a dirty, abandoned feel to it, this is why we went round the docks of Grimsby to see what we could find.
The idea for the narration part relates to the lyrics and meaning of the song. The song being called "Unnamed" is about one night stands, illicit sex with strangers and 'booty calls'. We thought to go with this feel, each member of the band will be contacted by said girl and will then go to her house to sleep with her (this will be done in a subtle manner e.g: The camera follows them upstairs and a flannel shirt is hung on the outside of the bedroom door.) Another shot would be after the girl has slept with the members of the band, she tallies it on her bed post, relating to the lyrics "All I am to you is another mark, on your bedpost." After the sex, each member of the band will be 'pie-faced' by this girl, to symbolize that it meant nothing to her.

Evaluation of Franklin Start
with the Franklin start I tried many different types of media. First was the music video which was something i understood and really wanted to create but the setting up of it did seem a problem as well as the matching a song to a video. Next was the documentary which was again interesting and would let me look into things that interest me. It did have the problem of being need to be taken very serious as documentary are not normal funny which was something i found difficult but was willing to work on. Next was the video game advert which was again very similar to the other two and something i would consider doing but again a video game advert would be hard when keeping with the sort of feel and theme of the game. Last was the magazine which was an interesting idea and like the documentary was something i could do about an interesting topic but making the magazine was not my strong point and i had trouble with the soft-ware i used.
In the end i have decide i will make a music video as it was something i found interesting and with one of my group members being in a band it felt like the one we would be best suited to.

Pros and Cons of a magazine
There are many pros and cons to making a magazine. some of the pros are you will again have a lot of creativity like in the other 3 probably more with the magazine being of your choice and about anything you like. It will also be easy for you to create as you would all ready know a lot about the subject you picked. It is also something you can do much easier on your own so if you don't have a group you can do this just as well as someone with a group. The problems with magazine covers are they need a lot of work with a front cover and a double page spread filled with info. when compered to a documentary or music video where it is much easier to do with less work then a double page spread. it also again like the others has to look professional because again like the other its easy for it not to be. There is also the problem of the softer wear you use with it being difficult for some people to use where others might find it easy to use it all depends on the individual.

Videogame Advertisment Pro's & Con's
The pros and cons of a video game advert are many different things. A pro to making a video game advert is there is a lot of freedom in the creative side of it. This means as long as your ideas is video game related it can be as creative as you want. Making it live action also mean it can be made more funny then maybe the other topics as live action video game adverts use humour. It also can be easy to relate back to the project as your trying to advertise a game with certain character and plots where a music video or documentary needs a plot to focuser on it. Again there are many negatives to a video game advert. one is the need for it to be live action as getting game footage is hard to do. Also there is creativity but it must always lead back to the main force of the video game and what it can do. The video game advert like all the other things needs to look professional and not amateur which means it will need a lot of hard work and can't be rushed.

Documentary Feedback
We got lots of feedback about our documentary. Many said it was entertaining to watch but could have been taken more professional with it looking quite amateur compared to others. They also said how the interviews were full of info and felt like interviews in a real documentary. they did so how we could have added more information like stats and techniques but that the info which was present was good and informative. the pacing of the documentary was also said to be to fast pace with it not giving the viewer time to think properly as it was already on to the next bit but they said the music help keep them entertained during the transitions. mostly the feedback was about having a proper plan instead of improvising so much and that with a proper plan we might have been able to get more information into a documentary.
I feel if i was making it again i would add a lot of changes that i have received from my feedback. first off i would have tried to make it more professional with less improvising. i would try to edit it so it feels less jerky with some of the editing feeling clunky and not as smooth i would like it. I would have also like to make it feel not as fast pace giving the viewers time to think and remember stuff in the documentary. it would also have been nice to add more infomation into my documentary just so it feel more like a documentary. I would have also made a plan just so we knew what we was doing when making the documentary. it would have helped with a plan as we would have an order to edit it into and also to keep the interviews in a better order making it easy to watch.

Documentary pros and cons
There are many pros to doing a documentary one is you can chose to topic
so it can be something very serious or something less serious like
famous singers or actors. These many choices mean it can be very easy to
get started and have a simple plan. a script is much easy to make for
a documentary with the information already there. a positive and
negative can be creativity with this meaning you can try make your
documentary very creative but will make it more difficult. some of the
cons are very simile to that of a music video with it needing to look
professional which mean it will take a lot of time and possible money.
They also need footage record your self which in some topics can be very
hard to do and might cause problems when working. also you will need to
do huge amount of research on some topics to make sure that your
documentary is factual and not just made up

Pros and Cons of Music Videos
There are many pros and cons to making a music video. The pros of making a music video is it is much easy to plan with it being a very basic idea, it has a lot of options to chooses from like the 4 different types of music video it could be like narrative or Surrealist. The cons of making a music video are it need a lot of people and locations depending on the idea so an advanced idea for your music video will be harder to do, it has to look professional as making one can look very amateur if not done properly this can be a main reason for not doing a music video. It also can be expensive with real bands needing to book equipment and a locations for them to be filmed in.
