Audience Research
Audience Research
This image shows the number of subscribers each artist within the music industry has, 19/10/2015.
These figures will have an affect on our audience, as the majority of the top subscribers in the music industry are pop genre based. In the “Top 100” subscribed music channels, the only “alternative” music channel that is included in this is “Linkin Park” at number 38. This could directly affect our audience base as it shows that YouTube have quite a niché market when it comes to rock music. This could affect our audience as the statistics gives a clear indication that our genre of music will not be as popular as the pop-based artists. Statistics show here that the pop genre is approximately double more popular than rock music. For example, this website shows that Rihanna is the most subscribed youtube channel for music. Earning 6,740 more subscribers within the past 24 hours, whereas Linkin Park earning 3,141 subscribers in the past 24 hours; roughly half than what Rihanna has gained. This also is a positive as with rock not being as mainstream it will mean we can find a target audience's much easy with it being such a niché group of people. This will mean are audiences will be in small amounts but easy to measure and get audiences views.
This shows the most viewed rock music videos on Youtube, which is mostly shown to be Linkin Park.
Filming the Main Task
Filming of the music video.
Here is evidence of all of us editing our music video together. And here is evidence of filming taking place.
Here is the filming of the performance part of the music video. With the camera borrowed from a friend we could get in close to the band performing as we focused on each on as they played the song. This meant the song had to be performance around 4 or 5 times as we had one for performance so we could focused on one member of a band and then do that for the other two members. We then did two group shots filming the whole of the band so we had a range of footage we could use in the editing.
Then there was the narrative part of the music video which we filmed at a friend of the groups house. This was a lot different from the performances recording as we was in a much tighter space but already had a storyboard set out so we knew what need filming. It did still take a long time down to human errors with people messing up or tripping into things. In the end we did get to many good shots and ment that a lot of them had to be edit out of the finished product.
Ancillary Task Planning - Poster
Ancillary Task Planning - Poster

As an idea for the poster, I was thinking of a simple long shot of the band in front of a grimy, rock band look background which establishes the band. I like the idea of a black and white background as it gives the idea they are dangerous, which links to the background of shutters, a large, open background and shadows.
